Summer is here or is just around the corner depending on where you live! Is school out for you yet? Whether you are dreading the time out of school or jumping up and down with joy, we’ve got a roundup of great ways you can keep the kids busy that don’t cost a fortune.
Lego Building
You can register at the Lego store for a monthly building session. You have to be a VIP member. It fills up rather quickly so take the time to register your VIP card online and then you can get info to register.
Bowling
I always loved this when I was a kid. We would ride bike to the bowling alley and bowl most days in the summer. So much fun. Registered kids receive 2 free games each day.
Summer Reading Programs
We have a great list of reading programs compiled. Most of them involved a reward of some sort when your child spends time reading over the summer.
$1 Movies from Regal Cinemas
Did you take advantage of this last year? This is a really fun way to catch a movie!
National Parks
Plan an outing to a local national park. Fourth graders visit free so if you have a 4th grader don’t forget to register with Every Kid in a Park program.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
If you are in the Seattle area, SPIRIT 105.3 has a great list you can reference. If you are in Austin, visit SPIRIT 105.9 for a great reference.
Building Workshops with Home Depot
These free workshops are a great way to get kids involved in building. They are the 1st Saturday of the month. Register ahead of time. They do fill up quickly. Simply do a search for a store near you.
Microsoft Youth Park Camps
Microsoft offers free camps at their stores. These are designed for children 8 years old and up and are available in 31 states.
Kids Skate Free
Similar to the bowling program, you can register your child for free skating. Simply check locations to see if there is a location near you!
Apple Camp
Your child can explore coding, robotics, movie making or musical storyteller at these camps. They take place at local apple stores. Registration opens 6/18!
American Girl Crafts
If you have a girl that loves American Girl you can join in on special craft times. You can also check out the other events they offer!
