If you are a fan of The Disneyland Resort, you may have heard that they have a new experience called Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures. Similar to other character breakfasts, this breakfast is filled with princesses! When I saw this was being offered I knew my daughter would LOVE it. It is hosted in the Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. (Note: I was not paid to write this, I just happened to go on opening week of this event and decided to share my experience. We paid full price!)
And then I saw the price. $125/person.
Would it be worth it? Should I spend the money?
I should have started by saying…if you want to read a money saving blog about how to do Disneyland on a budget, this isn’t it. However, if you want to read a blog that will tell you the best ways to spend your money at Disneyland, I can help with this based on my experience. I am a believer if you are going to go on vacation you should save up a bit extra to splurge and do things that are extraordinary.
I would put the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures in the category of extraordinary. Here’s why:
Is there anything more magical?
When we first arrived, we were immediately greeted by Rapunzel. She is my daughter’s favorite princess and we were so excited that she was there. We were given an autograph book and pen as well as a princess tic-tac-toe board to pass the time while we waited to be seated. Rapunzel spent some one on one time with my daughter chatting and laughing. We took some pictures. The magic had started.
People arrive at various times throughout the morning to stagger things. When we arrived we could see various princesses wandering around the room from table to table. My daughter’s eyes were aglow with excitement.
We had an extraordinary breakfast in three courses. First, appetizers.
Then a buffet, complete with Mickey waffles, so you know there will be food for the kids to eat. Some of the food was a little fancy for my daughter and she isn’t too adventurous. I found it delicious.
Then dessert. Don’t worry you can pack some of this up and bring it with you! Tip: Don’t eat the most easy to pack things first, save those for the hotel room later. Eat the Sorbet first, save the cakepops!
While we were eating, princesses were visiting our table and chatting, taking pictures and giving autographs. We never felt rushed with each princess and they all took the time to have a conversation with my daughter, which she loved.
After we were finished eating, we were led out onto the balcony where one of the princesses read a story. They keep the groups small so you feel like you are getting very special time. Our story was read by Belle.
We also met two additional princesses out on the balcony. At our breakfast we were able to have time with Rapunzel, Tiana, Belle, Jasmine, Aurora, Ariel, Pocahontas, and Mulan. Note that each breakfast may be different with the princesses that attend.
When this was complete we were given a goodie bag. My daughter chose a Crown necklace which was of nice quality. She also received a little bag and some sweets. The only downfall was the adults didn’t get a goodie bag! I was a little disappointed. At Disneyland everyone is a kid, right??
The last part of the breakfast was a professional photo shoot with a princess. I am so glad they did this as my photography skills aren’t professional and I love that we were able to capture this special morning.
The glow in my daughter’s eyes when we were done said it all. It was 2 hours filled with magic. Was it expensive? Yep. Was it worth it? Yep! These memories will last a lifetime and the magic is still glowing in her eyes when she talks about the stories she shared with the princesses. I will note that this was our very first time at Disneyland and my daughter had not met many of these princesses so it added extra magic to the event.
I never thought I would fall in love with Disneyland, but I did. Our vacation was MAGICAL. It was a step outside the ordinary, allowed us to disconnect and was truly a time we will remember forever.
If you want to experience your own Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures experience, you can make a reservation Thursday-Monday 8am – 12pm.
