Over the weekend, these “Three Strong Girls” set up a lemonade stand. That might not seem unusual as the Spring weather is changing. However, this lemonade stand was extra special due to the reason why the girls were raising money. These three girls decided they wanted to work together to rescue girls from the threat of human trafficking. They raised $60 from their 50-cent-per-cup lemonade and cookies 3 for 50 cents. What an inspiration these young girls are to all of us.
They’ve proven that we can all do our part to end human trafficking.
They’ve proven it doesn’t matter how old you are.
They’ve proven you take what you have and you make a difference.
Thank you to these three girls for reminding us that we all have a part to play. THIS WEEKEND, on May 11th, we have an opportunity for you to get involved in the fight too.
May 11th you can make a tangible difference to Seek Out and Stop Trafficking. World Concern is called to reach the unreachable and show up in the places where the road seems to end. YOU can be part of this life changing work. REGISTER today to join us at the S.O.S 5K.
Your $48 donation facilitates the rescue of a child from the threat of trafficking by:
- Staffing and promoting an S.O.S. hotline where situations of child slavery or exploitation are reported.
- Counseling children who have been removed from exploitation
- Emergency shelter at safe houses for girls who have been rescued
- Children’s Clubs where children are cared for, educated and warned about the dangers of child trafficking.
There is hope for these children. It’s you. It’s me. It’s us. Together, let’s change how the story ends for these children.
