Public Libraries
Check out the public library in your area for their summer reading clubs. Most have them, and some even have adult reading programs.
The summer reading theme this summer is 20,000 Reads Under the Sea. Join our Summer Reading program and every book you finish from now until the end of August counts toward a coupon for purchases from Kids Books AND some COOL FREE STUFF. Ask a staff member how to sign up, pick up your Captain’s Book Log, and get to it!
DOGOBooks allows kids to write reviews about books they love. Basically book reviews by kids for kids. The more reviews you write the higher your chance of winning.
Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program
Your child can earn a free book by participating in the summer reading challenge with Barnes & Noble. Simple follow the steps to enroll, complete the reading journal and then choose your free book. Completed journals are turned in Aug 1st – Aug 31st. They also have a great summer reading list.
Half Price Books Summer Reading Program
Half Price Books gives out free gift cards to kids who read books this summer. When kids read for 300 minutes during both June and July, they’ll get a free $5 gift card per month to Half Price Books
Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge
Scholastic has a summer reading challenge where kids read and then go online to record the minutes they’ve read this summer. They’ll also be able to take weekly challenges to earn rewards.
Sylvan’s Book Adventure Reading Program
Sylvan’s reading program called Book Adventure encourages children to read books and then take online quizzes over the books to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for prizes like books, magazine subscriptions, tattoos, candy, CD’s, and games.
Chuck E. Cheese Reading Rewards
Chuck E. Cheese has a summer reading program where kids can earn free 10 Chuck E. Cheese tokens for reading each day for 2 weeks. Plus, they have all sorts of other reward calendars as well!
Sync Summer Reading Program for Teens
Sync has a summer reading program just for teens that will get them two free audio books each week this summer. Each week there will be a current young adult book as well as a classic title that teens will be able to download for free through the OverDrive app.

TD Bank Summer Reading Program
This is an exciting reading program with TD Bank. If your child participates, they can receive $10 in their savings account. You do need to be an account holder, but you could open a new account. What a fun way to teach your child about reading and savings!
H-E-Buddy Summer Reading Club (Texas Only)
The H‑E‑Buddy Summer Reading Club is intended solely for children who are residents of Texas and between the ages of 3‑12. Complete the summer reading log and, based on the amount of minutes you read, there are a variety of prizes!
Read 8 books. Track you rlist and bring it to a retail store for a free book.
Applebee’s Book Worm Reading Club
This rewards program allows kids to log books if they are 10 or younger. Once you complete 10 books you earn a free kid’s meal!
