Being more environmentally conscious doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are three simple things you can do to reduce your personal impact.
- Stick a fork in it. Your desk drawer to be specific. Or your locker at work. Instead of grabbing a plastic fork from the employee lounge, use a real one. Scrub it up when you’re finished and store it until you need it again.
- Recycle. Seems like an obvious choice to add to a list like this, I know. I also realize it can seem daunting. Aluminum and glass and plastic and cardboard and paper. Who has space to store all those containers? Who has time to sort it all? Don’t be discouraged, just pick one thing and start with that. Save a big, old amazon box. Put it in your garage and stick a garbage bag in it. Toss your plastics in there and once it’s full drop it at your local recycle station.
- Switch from Saran Wrap to these. They come in a variety of sizes and are so easy to use. Wrap your cheese or fruit in one of the wraps and use the heat from your hands to seal it. When you’re finished simply wipe down and store until the next use.
