Have you been waiting to upgrade your appliances? Have you been living without a working appliance? We’ve got the inside scoop on the largest appliance sale in Washington state and you won’t want to miss it! It is happening on February 29th and March 1st in Ballard! We’re serious when we say you will not want to miss this! You will SAVE BIG! It’s a bit like Black Friday when you shop a warehouse sale. You really want to be prepared for what to expect and how to get the best deals. We’ve got the scoop just for you.
Here is what you need to know to get prepared to snag the best deals!
- Make sure you have a photo ID. For security they check ID on every purchaser and it must match. No exceptions.
- GET THERE EARLY! Lines sometimes start forming at 4am. You will line up at the main entrance to the left side of the loading dock!
- Are you ready to haul? Make sure you have your truck, your friend’s truck or your neighbor’s truck. Make sure you are prepared to tie it down yourself. While delivery and installation is available there is an additional charge, so prepare yourself for that.
- If you are tax exempt for any reason, you must have your resale certificate.
- Measure! Make sure anything you want to purchase will fit in your home. Don’t forget doorways, stairwells and tight corners. Measure everything. You don’t want an unhappy surprise when you get it home.
Now, what appliance are you hoping to shop for? This is the fun part! It surprising really how a simple appliance can really change your efficiency around the house. We have a new fridge that has a special small drawer for kid snacks and it has been life-altering. We wanted it to be easy for our kids to find the snacks without digging in the fridge, making a mess, or yelling at us they can’t reach. The appliances you choose make a difference for your home! Here are a few things you should consider, by appliance type, as you prepare to save big at the Albert Lee Warehouse Sale!
Washing Machines
- Measure your space, not necessarily your current washer. Make sure what you are buying fits the space exactly as you want it to.
- Do you want it to top load?
- If you are doing a front load, which way do you want the door to swing?
- Need some extras? How about a stacking kit?
I’m a fan of a top load washer and a front load dryer. I haven’t found a front load washer yet that doesn’t get grimy! What about you? What is your preference?
Dryers
- Do you have gas or electric? This is important. I didn’t honestly realize they made both. We had a gas dryer and then received an electric one as a gift. You can imagine how exciting it is to get a dryer, but then…yep, you guessed it, we had to have an electrician hook it up and add an outlet.
- Measure! Have you figured this out yet?
- Consider the way the door swings and how much space you will have.
- Is the new dryer you want deeper? Think about if you will need a side vent kit or addition vent options.
Ranges
- Measure. Always start with measuring. Really, don’t get excited about a new range and then realize it won’t fit.
- Look at the power supply. Electric, gas, dual fuel? You need to know! Make sure you are purchasing the correct fuel type.
- Do you have the appropriate ventilation for the new range you are getting? This is important!
- If you have a separate range and oven also think about the electricity needed. We need to upgrade our wall oven, but the new wall oven we want requires more electricity and thus an electrician needs to be involved. Make sure you know the power requirements!
Refrigerators
Not sure why, but I just really love a good refrigerator. I think it’s my favorite appliance. Maybe because of all the snacks.
- Measure. Height, width and depth are important. And don’t forget that you need to make sure it can get into your house and into the kitchen. Consider doorways, hallways and corners!
- A BIG TIP! Depth is essential to know. How deep can you go? A fridge can be really deep and suddenly it is blocking your entire walkway in the kitchen.
- Door swing. Figure this out ahead of time.
Dishwasher
- Measure.
- Dishwashers have different capabilities when it comes to loading. You are welcome to bring a sample of some dishes to test out loading so you are satisfied with what you are getting.
Are you ready to shop? This is going to be so much fun. I love scoring a good deal, especially when it comes to large purchases. You’ll be able to pay with cash, check, visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or financing available through Citi. All options through Citi will require credit approval. Also, an extra tip is that if you are paying with a debit card and it will be a big purchase you may want to let your bank know so they don’t place a fraud alert on your card. Most banks have daily spending limits!
