As you get ready to enjoy the wonder that is The Lights of Christmas Festival, brush up on our 5 tips to make the most of your time!
Arrive as close to opening as possible. The gates open at 5pm. On warmer weekend days it gets really busy. Plan ahead and get in line early! Parking is free and the staff are friendly.
Go Early in the Season. We’ve found that the earlier in the season we go, the lighter the crowds. This year, we are going the weekend after Thanksgiving and we are so excited to use this event to kick-off our holidays! No matter when you choose to go it’s going to be amazing!
Go on the weekdays if you can. It shouldn’t surprise you that weekends can be jam packed. If you can, go on the weekdays and you’ll avoid a lot of the congestion. You can follow The Lights of Christmas on Facebook for up to date traffic information each night of the event and the estimated crowd in attendance. Their “crowd-o-meter” is located on both Facebook and the Website. The festival runs November 29 – December 1, Dec 5-8, Dec 12-15, Dec 18-23 & Dec 26-29! Get your tickets now!
Get in line for the mini donuts first. There is really nothing better than a warm, sugary donut on a chilly night while you walk among the sparkly lights. Just get them first. In fact, buy a couple bags. You won’t want just one.
Book a cabin and stay for the night. Our family loves making the most out of our stay and booking a cabin for the night. It takes the stress out of rushing through everything quickly, allows us a place we can warm up, and creates a magical memory!
If you have never experienced The Lights of Christmas festival, make this the year! With over ONE MILLION lights, live entertainment, children’s activities, food, shopping, and more, you will not be disappointed. It is a family must for us each year and we can’t wait to hear about the memories you make with your kids as well.
