As everything seems to come to a halt in the middle of the global pandemic, many high school seniors might wonder if the typical methods of searching for a college still work. In many ways, the answer is yes! Even though campuses across the country are closed, University workers are still hard at work to make sure that your child can find the perfect college.

Obviously, one of the best ways to decide on a school is to visit its campus. Since this isn’t physically possible right now, many colleges have taken to the idea of “virtual campus tours.” Even though it’s not in person, visiting in this fashion is still a great way to help your senior narrow their decision.
Here are a few tips and tricks to make the most of virtual tours during this season:
- See more campuses in less time. This is a great way to take in a lot of information quickly. An in-person visit and tour typically takes anywhere from a couple hours to a whole day. With virtual tours, you can visit multiple campuses in much less time.
- Compile notes of your senior’s favorite things about each campus. As you go through each tour, you can pause the video and take screenshots as much as you like! This makes it easy to keep notes so that you can remember exactly what you like most about each college.
- Send your questions to your senior’s Admissions Counselor. Everyone who has been interacting with your student up until now is still ready and eager to work with them. They are ready to answer your questions any time.
As you narrow down the list to your top schools, you can go back and re-visit to refresh your memory as much as you need.
