With social distancing as the new norm, July 4th will look very different this summer. Instead of mass gatherings and parades, we’ll be spending our Independence Day in small groups of family and friends. There can be a lot of fun associated with that, and as you think about what your plans will be for July, here are a few ideas to consider!
Get the right gear. Old Navy always has their flag shirts available for a very reasonable price. Deck the whole family out and snap a family photo! It’s an affordable and fun tradition.
Pick up some glow gear. I know we can’t head out to the fireworks show in the evening, but we can have some fun outside! Get some glow sticks so that every age can have some fun! Bonus: If it is raining these work well inside too!
Fireworks. Make sure to check the rules and regulations of fireworks in your particular neighborhood/city/county first. You can find fireworks tents throughout the area and even if you just snag some sparklers it can be a fun way to celebrate!
SPIRIT 105.3 will be hosting a special Puget Sound Star-Spangled Soundtrack to their Fourth of July programming, featuring five hours of commercial free music celebrating America and the spirit of freedom from 7pm to midnight! Make sure to tune in for a special soundtrack for your night! It will pair perfectly with your fireworks or glow show!
Recipe Roundup. Perfect for a picnic or small gatherings, try some of these recipes!
It might feel different than past years, but make the most of the slower, less-scheduled summer days ahead. Get out that patriotic gear, turn up the soundtrack and make your favorite foods. Then all that’s left is to sit back, relax, and enjoy! Happy Fourth of July!
