Hi I’m Ashley! Wife, Promotions and Marketing Director, and (reluctant) dog mom are just a few of the hats I wear. I love going to Target for absolutely nothing and for everything, cooking, crafts, and party planning. You can usually find me with a cup of Woods Coffee and a smile!
I don’t know about you but when it comes to stuff, I usually err on the side of “less is more.” I am THAT person that will go through her house every few months and get rid of boxes upon boxes of stuff. So recently when I moved into a new house, I surprised myself by saying “yes” to keeping an old children’s swing set that the previous owners wanted to leave. My husband and I don’t have any kids yet, but we thought maybe our friend’s kids could use it when they come over.
Well I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but either those classic children’s swings are getting smaller or something else is getting bigger…either way my husband and I knew we wanted to get creative to put it to good use. After all, what’s the fun in having a swing set in your backyard if you are not going to use it?!
We decided to do a little DIY and turn our old kids swing set into a “grown-up” swing set. We did some research on Amazon and after much debate and many “add to carts” and “delete from carts,” we decided on some hammock style swings! We chose these specific swings because they are indoor/outdoor and because each one holds up to 320 pounds. The swings were delivered in less than two days and came with all the chains and bolts needed to complete the project. Then we simply added some outdoor pillows for an extra touch of coziness and comfort.
Here’s what I used:
- Hammock Chair
- Outdoor Pillows
- Old Swing Set
For about $140 we transformed our backyard into a grown-up paradise! Grab a cup of coffee and trust me you are never going to want to leave!
