I love coffee. It’s funny, because before I moved to an area of the country where coffee was a serious THING, I didn’t really consider the difference a really good cup of coffee would make.
Now I don’t really consider myself a coffee snob per say, but I really do prefer a GOOD cup of coffee. Does that make me a snob? I don’t know, maybe it does?
This is why I’m so happy Woods Coffee, which is my fave, now has a coffee subscription service. They just rolled it out and when you sign up for the first time, you even get a free bag of coffee to try. What’s better than that? Not much! So, go ahead and go order your subscription now. No rush. I’ll wait.
Rebecca received some free coffee from the Woods Coffee Subscription in exchange for this blog.
Now that you are back and excited for your first coffee subscription to arrive, you should get ready to pair it with some of your favorite fall treats!
- Molasses Cookies – This is my most personal favorite cookie for fall. I love a soft molasses cookie. The recipe I have loved most is from food.com. Easy to make and so delicious. These do not last long in our house.
- Sugar Cookies – I am a huge fan of The Hutch Oven and Emily’s cookies are so delicious. My kids and I have fun making the sugar cookies and the frosting is delicious. You can find it all in her book Creative Cookie Decorating, or on her website The Hutch Oven. https://www.thehutchoven.com/creative-cookie-decorating/
- Chex Mix – You can’t go wrong with a batch of chex mix. We normally wait to make this until closer to Thanksgiving, but this year it feels right to have it on hand as soon as possible. We generally follow the traditional recipe.
- Monster cookies – If you live near a Woods Coffee they sell the batter to their monster cookies. These are a hit in our house.
- Caramel Apples – Easy and delicious. Buy some caramel. Buy some delicious honey crisp apples. Winning!
- Pumpkin Scones – I do not know how to bake these so I would just buy one at Woods! You don’t have to bake everything.
- Caramel Brownies – My friend Debbie sent me this recipe and I can’t wait to try it. What is it about caramel and chocolate together!?
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
- Ingredients:
- 1/2 c melted butter/marg.
- 2/3 cup evap milk
- 1 pkg. germ choc. cake mix
- 1 pkg. caramel
- 1 pkg chocolate chips
- Melt caramels and 1/3 c evap milk over double broiler
- In separate bowl mix cake mix, 1/3 cup evap milk and melted butter
- Place 1/2 of cake dough in 9×12 pan (press out) and bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees
- When cake is done, pour caramel on top, then sprinkle choco. chips over caramel. Take second half of cake mix and press out in strips and place over chip layer
- Bake for 15-20 min at 350 degrees
- Rice Krispy Bars – Okay, don’t these just send you back to being a kid? Yes! You can even use up all those extra marshmallows in the cupboard from making S’mores all summer, so they don’t turn into a big mushy lump in the cupboard. Tip: Put in 25% more marshmallows than the recipe calls for. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.
- Coffee Cake – I mean. What pairs better with coffee than coffee cake? I cheat on this one and always buy a mix, because it’s just easier sometimes!
- Puppy Chow or Muddy Buddies – We call it puppy chow, but you may call it muddy buddies and it is a must have in our house starting in the fall and over the holidays. My kids have been asking for it earlier this year and I’m thinking that sounds like a delicious plan. We are a fan of Crispix and not Chex Mix in this one because it seems to have a better crunch.
Who is ready for some fall baking? I love when the weather cools down enough for baking to warm up the house and make everyone feel cozy. Do you have a favorite fall treat that goes well with your perfect cup of coffee?
Happy Fall!
