We know Thanksgiving looks a lot different this year. Gatherings might be smaller or limited to just immediate family, depending on your state’s regulations and your family situation. There are a few ways to gather virtually so that you can still feel connected as we navigate this crazy year together!
Zoom
For Thanksgiving Zoom is lifting it’s restrictions so there will not be a time limit for meetings. Normally you get only 40 minutes unless you pay the $15 a month. They will be lifting the limit from midnight on 11/26 – 6am on 11/27.
As a thank you to our customers, we will be lifting the 40-minute limit for all meetings globally from midnight ET on…

Google Hangout
Google Hangouts allow you to call, message or video chat via your computer or mobile device.
FaceTime
If you are an apple phone user, consider a FaceTime chat. It is easy to do on your phone. While this wouldn’t be good for a group call, it would be an easy way to connect one on one with family. If you need help with FaceTime, try this Apple support info!
Skype
Skype has been around awhile and is an easy way to make a video call. You don’t have to sign up or download anything. You can easily set up a holiday video call with your family. Start at Skype.com!
Facebook Group
It can be really fun to set up a Facebook group with your family. In the group you can easily go live and share what you’ll be doing for the holiday. While this isn’t as interactive as a video call, it would be an ongoing way to stay connected with family. If you are wondering how to set up a Facebook group, start here!
Facebook Messenger for Adults & Kids
If you are looking for a simple way for kids to connect with grandparents or other friends, Messenger for kids is quick and easy. They don’t need a Facebook account and it is controlled via a parent account. If you are interested in the messaging app for kids, you can find out more on the Messenger Kids website.
There is also a regular version of Messenger, which allows for easy access to chatting with your friends and family. Start here if you are interested in Messenger.
If you haven’t taken the time yet to find out easy ways to virtually connect, now is a great time to do it. Thanksgiving isn’t ideal. The world isn’t ideal. 2020 isn’t ideal. That doesn’t mean we can’t make the best of it and find unique, special ways to still connect.
