I read a news article recently talking about parents in the Ukraine bracing for military action by sending their children to school with contact information and blood type pinned to their clothes. While I know that we all try to plan for emergencies and brace our children for things that could happen, I cannot really fathom the concept of sending my children to school in this type of situation and what that would feel like.
When I don’t really know what to do or how to help or even how I can process information I find prayer an effective way to let my heart settle. Would you join me today in specifically prayer for the children in Ukraine?

Heavenly father, today we come before you specifically to pray over the children in the Ukraine. Lord, we know this is scary. We know that there are young children hearing words like fire and bombs and threat and they don’t understand. Lord, can you give them your peace and surpasses all understanding. Lord, can you give them supernatural strength and understanding for listening to their parents and teachers if they are in a stressful situation. Lord, keep them safe.
For the parents, Lord, we ask you to give them wisdom. Give them the right words to say to their children to keep them safe but aware. Lord, give them a sense of peace and protection. Be ever present around them. Make yourself known to them. We know you are there and watching over them. Help them stand firm in their faith and lean on you, Lord.
For teachers, Lord, we ask you to give them a calm spirit to help children remain calm. Lord, give them wisdom to protect and encourage. Lord, keep them safe. Help them know when they are going off to school that you will be protecting their families as well.
We are asking you, Lord, for peace. Bring peace! Protect the people. Go before and surround your people, Lord. Calm anxious hearts and minds. Show us how we can love and support our brothers and sisters in the Ukraine in the best ways. Jesus, we cry out to you! Please come.
