St. Patrick’s Day is March 17. I learned years ago that my kids are not fans of mom making foods green to celebrate. In fact, my daughter cried one year when I put a touch of food coloring in a glass so that when I filled it up, the liquid turned green. I thought it was pretty funny but she most certainly did not.
One thing we have made a tradition, however, is trying to catch that Leprechaun!
You can use anything you have around the house and it’s actually a great project to use up things you want to get rid of because truly anything goes. Half a sheet of stickers, almost empty bottles of glitter and some old yarn? Sure, throw that in there as a way to entice the Leprechaun to jump on in! The only thing you want to make sure you have is some sort of container. Could be a shoe box, Amazon box, a jar or anything that the Leprechaun can maybe get trapped in.
Spoiler alert; we have never actually caught a Leprechaun. But each year, we have woken up to find he did in fact get lured into the trap because the container is always ransacked (candy we put in there will be missing, etc). He is little so he must always find a way to escape.
Here is a video of my daughter and her friend making their traps this year. Check it out for some ideas.
Have fun!
