My granddaughter and I did a fun spring project recently. It’s quick and easy and can be made before anyone gets bored.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A piece of cardboard
- A sharpie (or paints)
- An awl
- Scissors or clippers
- Flowers and weeds
Find a piece of cardboard approximately 8” x 10” (we cut up an old cereal box).
Draw a vase or pot on it with a sharpie (paint it if desired).
Mom puts the cardboard down on the grass or an old piece of wood and punches random holes above the vase.
The kids run around the yard searching and cutting (if they’re old enough) flowers, greenery, dandelions, etc. (whatever is colorful).
Let the kids push the flowers through the holes.
Voila, a botanical picture rivaling the old masters.
Don’t forget to take pictures and send them to grandma!
We had fun with this one. It was the perfect way to get an “indoor kid” out into the sunshine.
