Spring in the Pacific Northwest can be a beautiful thing, but there are a few things that make living here unique. Give yourself a point for everything you’ve done on this list. The more points you have, the more of a Washingtonian you are!
- Left your coat at home because the day started out sunny … and then it rained.
- Kept ordering hot coffee instead of iced because the spring weather was not cooperating.
- Refused to put away winter blankets, because you still needed them.
- Watched the wind and rain knock the blossoms off your flowering trees.
- Counted slugs in your garden.
- Took layers off and put them back on throughout the day because the weather was being weird.
- Already lost a pair of sunglasses this season.
- Barbecued in the rain.
- Mowed the lawn in the rain.
- Gardened in the rain.
- Had a picnic in the rain.
- Opened the windows and listened to the rain.
- Waited too long to buy a swimsuit because you just didn’t see the point.
- Watched TV shows set in tropical locales just to see the sun.
- Looked at houses for sale in sunny states.
- Planned dream vacations, even just in your mind, to hot climates.
- Counted how many gray days you’ve had in a row.
- Watched birds splashing in puddles.
- Only bought waterproof jackets.
- Think umbrellas are for wimps.
- Refuse to curl your hair, because … why?
- Invested in waterproof mascara.
- Bought a cute pair of rain boots.
What was your score? Are you a seasoned Washington resident?
