Whether you are hosting Thanksgiving and providing all the fixins or you have been asked to bring the staple veggie platter, this dish is sure to provide rave reviews. It’s simple yet creative and might even get the kids interested in eating some vegetables on Thanksgiving!
You’ll need:
- Bell Peppers (1-3 depending on the size of your platter)
- Carrots (I used about ½ a bag of baby carrots)
- Cucumbers (I used about ¾ of an English cucumber)
- Snap Peas (I used about ½ a bag)
- Cherry tomatoes (I sprinkled some around
- Googly eyes (2) Either craft ones or candy
- Small bowl (for dip or just to put the turkey “face” on)
(Optional) Vegetable Dip (I used pre-made store bought)
Directions (watch the video below for step by step)
- Wash all veggies
- Slice cucumbers into circles and layer on plate in two rows in a half circle at the top of the platter
- Slice the top off of one bell pepper (this will be the “face” of the turkey
- Slice the bell peppers into strips
- Layer the bell peppers, carrots, snap peas & tomatoes onto the plate
- Place the small bowl onto the plate and layer more veggies around it
- Place dip into a bowl (if serving dip)
- Place the top of the bell pepper onto the bowl
- Place googly eyes onto the pepper
- Place a carrot and a slice of bell pepper onto the top of the bell pepper (the mouth and “gobbler”)
Mine might not have turned out Pinterest Perfect but I love it and cannot wait to make this part of my Thanksgiving appetizer spread.
