Spring has sprung! Nothing can match the beauty of a sunny spring day in the Pacific Northwest. It’s our reward for lasting through all the gray winter days.
I was telling my dentist how happy I am to stick my hands in the dirt again. She made a face and said, “Yuck, I hate having dirty hands,” (which is probably a good thing since she often has her hands in my mouth!).
So, for those who aren’t gardeners, here’s a spring flower craft to make with your kids. Dirty hands aren’t necessary!
What you’ll need:
- Stiff decorative scrapbook paper
- Mini baking cups
- Scissors and a pencil
- Double sided tape or craft glue
- Our pattern (or draw your own!)
- Jellybeans or other small candies
On the back side of the scrapbook paper, draw around the flower pattern and cut it out (Click flower template below to download).
Glue or tape a mini cupcake liner to the center of the pretty side of the paper flower.
Fill the liner with candies.
These make cute place card holders for a tea party or just to liven up a family dinner.
Note: If you want to hang your spring flowers on the wall, simply glue them onto a piece of colored paper (without the candies). Add stems and leaves with paint or green construction paper. Sprinkle glitter with wild abandon!
DID YOU KNOW:
Flowers are mentioned 159 times in the Bible!
“And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Matthew 6:28-29
