As each day draws to an end, I can feel myself seeking a shield from the tsunami of chores. The list of to-do’s is endless. Fact is, each time I look they seem to grow bigger.
I feel like hiding away from myself.
Why? I need to rest!
Like traveling through uncharted waters, life opens up more knots than it seems to untangle.
Have you been there?
Do you feel drowned with your own life?
Then like me, you need to just stretch out on your bed or just sit on your comfy couch and drag in a soft pillow to rest your head.
We need to turn off all thoughts that raise our fears, doubts and anxiety. To find that place where our hearts rest and our souls are at peace can only happen when we just STOP and dwell in His presence.
There is peace and strength for those times when we feel we are losing it.
The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
Psalm 29:11
Sometimes we feel unprotected, vulnerable to changes within our paths. At such moments we know that there is peace that He freely offers us.
The question is can we trust Him to give us rest?
Trusting God is about surrendering ourselves even when we are most vulnerable. Surrendering may be difficult but all that we truly desire is found in total surrender to Him. That’s when we get rest!
In this journey of life, remember at all times “The Lord is with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us” (Hebrews13:5).
Despite unexpected events that lie ahead and seemingly beyond our control we have assurance in His Words. At such times when we feel troubled, our hope must be securely anchored on Him who holds our future in His palms.
We find our rest in the comfort of His Words. Awesome!
