I had to have some medical testing a few years ago. The testing itself was scary and painful and I was, of course, worried about the results.
While I was having the test done, a nurse came in and told me to stop by the front desk on my way out. I wondered if they already had bad news to tell me or perhaps, I had a past due bill they wanted me to pay.
When I hobbled up to check out, the receptionist handed me a lovely gift. My friend, Mindy, had snuck in and dropped off a coffee carrier with two commuter mugs of coffee, some flowers and some treats. She knew I had been nervous about the procedure, and she knew where the test was being done, so she had taken it upon herself to bring me this wonderful surprise.
It was such an unexpected and lovely gesture that all I could do was stand there and weep. The gals in the office had huge smiles on their faces. They loved the gesture and felt so happy for me.
My pain and my fear were forgotten. I felt love instead, love for my dear friend and love from my Father, who had given me such a friend.
“A friend loves at all times, and a brother (or sister) is born for a time of adversity.” Proverbs 17:17
I was surprised (years later) when I started seeing “Coffee Bouquets” online. They were basically copies of Mindy’s lovely gift. People were using coffee carriers to create gifts for the people in their lives. Besides cups of coffee, they usually tucked in flowers and little gifts.
Having everything put into a coffee carrier makes it easy to bring things to a friend in need or just to brighten up someone’s day. It’s an adorable way to give a treat to a loved one.
The ideas for coffee bouquets are endless.
Here’s one for a friend who’s feeling blue:
This one is for a sick friend:
My teen granddaughter loves a coffee treat (and new make-up!):
The littles in my life love treats (replace the coffee with juice):
Or, don’t forget the “just because” coffee bouquet:
A crafting friend would cherish one made with new pens, scissors and, of course, coffee or tea. You could quickly make one up for a gardening family member, just tuck in some seed packets, a new hand shovel and some gardening gloves. Some Legos and a favorite soda would thrill a lucky boy. An introvert would love a new book, bookmark and some chocolates.
Coffee bouquets are easily patterned after the recipient and there are never-ending ideas for tuck-ins: Bible verses, gift cards, tea bags, fancy soaps, treats, toys, movie tickets, mugs, chocolates, donuts, … the list goes on and on.
No matter the occasion, coffee bouquets are an easy and fun way to show the people in your life that you care.
“Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.” Proverbs 27:9
