FOOD!
Did I get your attention? After all, food is what got us here in the first place. And surprisingly, food is what will get us out.
When you embark on any new eating program there are a lot of no-no’s and that can be hard to get used to. So, it is important to enjoy the food that you are allowed to eat. There are so many Ideal Protein foods to choose from that you are guaranteed to find ones you love. I thought I’d give you some quick examples of what a day looks like for me on the Ideal Protein program.
Breakfast:
If I’m feeling particularly hungry I make an IP omelet. All the herbs and seasonings are already in the mix which makes it quick and easy to prepare. Another favorite of mine is the maple oats. Just shake and heat in the microwave for a warm, cozy breakfast.
My husband and I often go out for a coffee in the morning. On those days I bring an IP bar with me. They come in a ton of flavors and are so yummy that I can ignore the pastries at the coffee shop!
Or, maybe you’d rather have a latte. Simply order a double shot of espresso (I get decaf) over ice in a venti cup and then pour an IP vanilla drink over the top. I am not kidding you when I say that these are more delicious than any latte I’ve ever had!
Lunch:
Lunch is a salad and an IP meal. I love salads! I change up the type of lettuce I use and the veggies that I add so I’m never bored. Soups are an easy IP meal – I love the cheese broccoli soup. But, I’ve also enjoyed mac n cheese, tomato basil soup and chicken ala king (and there are lots more to choose from!).
Dinner:
Dinner is the one meal you make yourself. It should contain 8 ounces of protein and 2 cups of veggies. I just bought myself a food scale and found out that I was cheating myself out of a lot of protein! It was so worth the 12.99 I spent on Amazon!
If you’re tired, stir fries are an easy way to go. I just cook everything together in my wok and dinner is ready. The number of proteins on the approved list makes it easy to change up your meals. You’ll never get bored.
Snack:
My favorite snack in the evening is pudding. So far I’ve tried dark chocolate, milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and banana. You can also use the pudding mixes to make smoothies. I just add extra water and some ice cubes and whip it up in the blender!
A big plus to all the IP foods is that they’repacked to be portable. That means that you can easily toss a whole day’s worth of food into your purse, diaper bag or briefcase. Keep an extra shaker at your office and as long as you have access to a microwave, a hot meal is only seconds away. Or, on extra busy “mom days” bring along a bar and an IP drink or pudding, grab a salad and you’re good for the whole day.
I hope this gives you an idea of how simple the Ideal Protein Program is to follow. I have barely scratched the surface of the foods available to you. Why not give Annie at Edmonds Ideal Weightloss a call and find out for yourself?
