It was about a year ago. It was a particularly hard season in our family and my rope was nearly frayed. I was hanging on for dear life, and Just Be Held by Casting Crowns came on the car radio.
It was the first time I’d ever heard it; tears flowed freely as the words spoke straight to my heart.
Your world’s not falling apart, it’s falling into place.
For a woman who had no strength left to hold on, the promise that I had a God who would hold me if I simply let go was a relief to my soul. I listened to that song over and over and over for several difficult months.
Fast forward to about two weeks ago. I was driving down the same stretch of freeway on a gorgeous sunny late-summer day when the familiar chords came through the speakers. The tears came again.
But this time, they were tears of gratitude. Tears of remembrance. Tears accompanied by laughter as I reflected on God’s goodness and realized that He really did hold me through that season, and that I’d come out whole on the other side.
For this reason I felt overwhelmingly fortunate to have the opportunity to accomany our Reporter of the Day Winner, Stacey, backstage with Casting Crowns.
Stacey’s story was amazing.
She loves Casting Crowns and bought front-row tickets for herself and a friend six months ago. Front row!!!
Then, she heard a prompting. A prompting to give her tickets to her sister, who was walking through her own trial. After prayer and reflection, she did. She gave her prized front-row tickets to this months-anticipated show to her sister.
And shortly after doing so, she got a call that she’d won Reporter of the Day – along with a new set of concert tickets!
Stacey had the opportunity to ask a couple of questions to Mark Hall and Megan Garret of Casting Crowns, and we also asked them a couple of listener-solicited questions.
