Happy Valentine’s Day! It is the month of love. You might have some struggles with this month or you might not. You might love this month or you might hate it. The good news is that no matter how you feel, love month is for all of us, no matter your relationship status. Do you know why? Because God loves you! God Himself is love, shows us how to love, and showers us with his love. As you reflect on Valentine’s Day this year, remember this incredible love story. Here are a few verses you can hold close this week.
Romans 5:8 – But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
John 3:16 – For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Zephaniah 3:17 – For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
1 John 4:19 – We love each other because he loved us first.
John 15:13 – There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
1 John 3:1 – See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.
1 John 4:16 – We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
Jeremiah 31:3 – Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.
Ephesians 2:4-5 – But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
Psalm 136:26 – Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever.
