My kids are 11 and 14 and Christmas seems to get increasingly harder when it comes to what to get them for gifts. Particularly for my 14-year-old son. If you too are struggling, here are some ideas I have purchased or intend to purchase to help fill their stockings this year.
3 pack sunglasses. You can split these up amongst multiple stockings or put all three into one. My son likes these and the $15 making $5 per item is reasonable.
Travel sized toiletries. We don’t have any trips planned but last year we had a mid-winter break trip so I put in travel deodorants, toothpaste and other travel sized items. It was stuff I was going to purchase anyways so it was great to also help to fill the stockings. Dollar stores are a great spot for these items.
Seamless hair ties. ($5) My opinion is that these hair ties are the best ever. This pack of 100 is plenty to put some in my 11-year-old daughter’s stocking as well as my own.
EOS lip balm. ($3) Or really any lip balm or lip gloss.
Burt’s Bees facial stick. ($12 for two) Another one you can split up to put into multiple stockings. This item is great for a teen and their hormonal skin.
Plain t-shirts. ($10) My son likes plain t-shirts, and these are great to roll up and help take up a good amount of space in his stocking.
Under eye puff reducing patches. ($5 for 15 pairs)
Command hooks. ($3) Great for tweens and tweens who like to hang things up in their room.
Face Ice Roller. ($6)
Scalp brush. ($6) My daughter and I love our scalp brushes. I use dry shampoo in-between washes and this brush helps get all that build up off of my scalp.
Band-Aids/tape wrap. (varies) When my kids were little, they used to love band-aids with different Disney characters. They no longer care for those but I find that they do still use them, so I always put some in for them to stash away into their school bag or room.
Rope cross bracelet. ($10) I got this for my son for his 14th birthday and he actually wears it.
Gold earring set. ($10) I have this and love it. You could split this one up for multiple stockings too.
Listerine strips. ($5 for 3-pack) I typically will do the standard gum in stockings but also love these strips and will be purchasing this year.
Orthodontic flossers. ($7 for 100) My kids are both in braces and go through these flossers pretty fast. Santa naturally will be replenishing their stock this season.
The Driving Book. ($8) This looked cute for a kid who is reaching or at driving age.
Scalp massager. ($6) I love mine and my kids steal it so this year everyone is getting one.
Pimple patches. ($7 for 120 patches) Another popular item in our house with a tween and teen
Face wipes. ($5+) any type of make up remover wipe or dude wipe.
Snacks. I do try to limit the candy in stockings but will put things like individually packed beef jerky/chomp sticks or packs of crackers.
Nail polish. ($1+)
Phone chargers. ($8 varies) I don’t know what happens to them but they disappear like socks do. I am getting my teen this 4-pack of 6 foot charger cables for his phone.
Socks and underwear. Basic but a staple I always include in our stockings each year.
LED lights. ($10) Both of my kids have these in their bedrooms and really like them.
Shower Steamers. ($13 but for a 6-pack) Split these up among multiple stockings to keep the price point reasonable per stocking.
Have other ideas? We’d love to hear!
