Summer is here and 4th of July is coming up fast! What better way to celebrate our Independence Day than with some patriotic treats and activities?
Fireworks Craft
Of course, nothing says 4th of July like fireworks! You don’t need much for this fun and festive craft:
- 1 package bendable, plastic straws
- Red, white, and blue craft paint (I use Crayola finger paints)
- Red, white, and blue construction paper or cardstock
- Scotch tape
- Paper plates
Instructions:
First, grab some straws and tape the long ends together so they stay in a clump. Bend the tops so they are facing outward.
You can trim the straws to make smaller fireworks so you have a variety of sizes.
Pour a little bit of each paint color onto separate paper plates.
Dip the straw fireworks into the paint, and stamp it onto the paper.
Allow it to dry, and voila!
Red, White, and Blue Strawberries
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. strawberries
- 1 package white melting candy/chocolate
- Blue sprinkles
Instructions:
Pour the sprinkles into a small bowl.
Melt the white chocolate according to the instructions.
Dip the strawberries into the white chocolate, leaving some of the berry visible.
Then, dip the tip of the strawberry into the blue sprinkles right away so they stick.
Set on wax paper to set. Enjoy right away or refrigerate leftovers!
