It’s a yummy time of the year! Fresh fruit and veggies everywhere you look, clear until harvest time in the Fall!
With all of this fresh produce the question remains, how do we get our kids to EAT those yummy foods?! Kristina was brilliant with her post on “How I Got My Son to Eat Salad” and I wanted to share some more fresh ideas and summer salads that even the kids will eat!
By the way…who says salad can’t be served in a million different ways? Think outside the box and have a little fun with your food.
Lettuce Cheese and Avocado Salsa Tacos
Veggie Chicken and Crispy Noodle Cups
Avocado Cantaloupe Salad w/Orange Dressing
Salad Stuffed Peppers w/ Creamy Avocado Dressing
Other ways you might get your kids to be more interested in these deelish seasonal foods is to…
- Take them to a Farmers Market or grocery store, talk about all of the deelish foods and let them pick something out.
- Let them help you prepare the foods. Kids very young can help with salads.
- Have a garden…even if it’s one small pot on your porch. YES…you can grow tons of things in a pot.
No matter what you do…make food fun. Fun wins most of the time.
