In the entertainment industry, ego issues are common. It seems like once someone gets famous, they quickly adopt an entitled air. They lose touch with the “real world” most of us live in and instead enter a place where agents, managers, stylists and entourages cater to their every need.
To be fair, it has to be almost impossible to stay grounded when so many people are telling you you’re wonderful. (I don’t know, personally I’ve never been in that position!).
For many people, the opening of the newest Star Wars movie is a HUGE deal! Arguably, “The Last Jedi” will be the top grossing film of the year. The young members of the cast have been thrown quickly into the spotlight. They became household names almost overnight and that has to be tough to deal with.
John Boyega plays Finn in the last two Star Wars films and apparently all the attention hasn’t gone to his head. On the red carpet, John did something completely unexpected. Right in the middle of an interview he said, “Enough of me, meet my parents!” His exuberance and pride were evident as he ushered his mom and dad over. It was a sweet and adorable moment.
We here at All Mom Does just loved this clip and we wanted to share it with all you parents out there. Most of us will never have kids who walk a red carpet, but we would hope that our kids still remember who raised them and are as exuberantly thankful as John Boyega is. John Boyega, thank you for giving all us moms a little hope that our kids will always hold us close!
Way to go, John! May you never lose your lovely spirit of love and gratitude.
