My 11 year wedding anniversary is fast approaching. For ten years running, we have celebrated our marriage with a nice dinner and, if we are lucky, some years we have gotten away for an entire 24 hours thanks to my parents who are typically always up for grandkid time.
This year, I am changing it up.
I am changing it up because I feel like life is moving fast and my husband and I need more than just 24 hours to slow down and catch up. Moms, like you, I feel like all we do is “go-go-go”. After a busy week, I often realize my husband and I have been so focused on work and the logistics of life with two kids that we don’t always stop to connect with each other.
For me, marriage was kind of a breeze early on. I am finding the challenges are coming at us more now than ever. For that reason, I am taking charge and doing something for our marriage we have never done before.
We are attending a Weekend to Remember couples retreat. It’s something I have always been interested in but never committed to. When I learned there is one in my area that literally falls on my anniversary, I took it as a sign that we need to take the plunge!
My objective is to gain some tools to help us further grow our relationship with each other. I am excited to become one of the 1.5 million couples who have attended this retreat as a way to invest in my marriage. I can’t wait to share my experience with you.
Whether you are engaged or have been married 5 years or 40 years, this conference is for you. There’s one coming up soon at Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, WA November 15-17!
And you might even be able to go for FREE! We’re giving away a Weekend to Remember couple’s registration and prize pack of marriage resource books. Enter to win here!
