Beneath the cities of war-torn Ukraine, battles are taking place in bomb shelters. Children are fighting cancer and in need of juice, bread… and blood infusions.
Parents are now giving their own blood so their little ones can live. It’s unimaginable. Only the Lord could give these moms and dads true peace as they grapple with two wars; the one above, the one below.
If your child needs blood, you roll up your sleeve: it’s a heart breaker and a no brainer. Blood donors saved my son’s life, but had Joshua required mine, I would have given him all of it. Every drop.
It’s what any loving parent would do.
It’s what God did.
He is our Father and we are His children. He knew we needed to be saved from our sins and that we couldn’t save ourselves. It’s why God the Father sent His one and only son, the Lord Jesus to die for us. He died on the cross and paid for our sins with His blood.
In Old Testament times, the Jewish people sacrificed spotless animals, spilling their blood as a payment for their sins. Jesus became the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world.
He was born on that first Christmas, lived a sinless life, died on Good Friday, and rose from the dead three days later on that first Easter Sunday.
When you and I accept the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf, as payment for our sins, His blood washes them away. We become white as snow. Is there anything whiter than snow?
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.” ~Isaiah 1:18
Jesus died so you and I could live.
With the Lord, there is peace here and now and eternal life in heaven the moment your heart beats for the last time. There is so much more than this life! God’s plans for us are beyond anything we can conceive with our finite minds.
When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will never be alone and you will always be loved. He tells us clearly that we’ll have trouble in this world, but that He’s overcome it. Best of all, Jesus promises to never leave us, ever, and His love never fails.
God is with the parents in the bomb shelters in Ukraine. He is with you as you wonder what this world is coming to and what all the bad news means.
The bad news only brings the good news to the front burners of our busy lives. God the Father sent Jesus to save us because He loves us. Oh how He loves us.
Do you have questions about Jesus? We’d love to tell you more about who Jesus is and what he can do for you.
