I love Reese’s peanut butter cups. I especially love the Easter egg ones sold this time of year. They pack a lot of sugar and calories so while I do still treat myself to them, I like having other sweet options on hand too that are a little healthier.
This recipe for chocolate peanut butter protein balls is so easy and so good. Each ball has about 5 grams of protein making it a sweet treat that you won’t feel guilty about.
This quick video shows how to make them.
You’ll need:
- Applesauce- 1/3 cup
- Powdered Peanut Butter- 1 cup. I use PB Fit available at most grocery stores and Costco.
- Chocolate Chips- I used mini milk chocolate but you can use whatever kind you like. You can use the Lily’s brand for lower sugar but I used regular.
- Coconut Oil- 1 tablespoon
Easy steps:
Mix the applesauce and powdered peanut butter in a bowl until it forms a dough like texture.
Roll into bite-sized balls and place into balls on a plate.
Refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
While the balls are in the refrigerator:
Pour chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl
Add in 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Microwave in 30-second increments until the chocolate is melted
Take the balls out of the fridge and one-at-a-time, place into melted chocolate so each one is coated
Place back onto the plate once coated in chocolate
Freeze for about 30 minutes
ENJOY!
