Hebrews 1:14 tells us that angels are ministering spirits sent by God, to serve, accompany and protect those who are to inherit salvation. These majestic angels live to do the will of God. They are His spirit army and are very numerous. The shepherds got to experience this beautiful, majestic army that announced the birth of Jesus Christ. How glorious that sight must have been!
Luke 2:10-14 – But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people. For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah). And this will be a sign for you [by which you will recognize Him]: you will find [after searching] a Baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.”
These paper angels are a quick and easy craft everyone can make. Even your little ones will get a thrill out of painting the paper angels with watercolors. Have fun decorating your house, windows or tree with these cute paper angel Christmas ornaments.
You will need:
- Printer paper or construction paper
- String, twin or pipe cleaners
- Wooden beads
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Watercolors, paint and paint brush
- Glue
Directions:
String a loop of twin or pipe cleaner through the wooden beads and set aside.
Fold a piece of paper into an accordion fan.
Cut the accordion fan into half.
Fold the top part quarter way over to make the angle wings.
Place the two folded halves side by side.
Staple the pipe cleaner in the middle of the two folded halves, with the wooden bead (angel head) at the top. Be sure to only staple the parts of paper on the two halves that touch each other and not the whole accordion fan.
If using twin or string, you can glue it in the middle of the two halves.
Fluff out the angel wings a little and paint with some watercolors if you like.
Enjoy!
