He is risen! He is risen indeed!
We celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in season and out of season. Jesus was nailed to the cross for the sins of many, He died, was buried in a tomb, and on the third day He rose again to eternal life. Hallelujah!
Mark 16:5-7 “Going into the tomb, they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right side; and they were startled. But he said to them, ‘Don’t be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He isn’t here. Look, here’s the place where they laid Him. Go, tell His disciples, especially Peter, that He is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see Him there, just as He told you.’”
This craft was a fun one for the whole family. It creatively uses simple and easy to find materials and the result is stunning! This beautiful craft activity is a chance for you and your children to discuss the meaning of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and what His death and resurrection made available to all who believe in Him and follow Him as Lord and Savior.
This is a season of hope. To remind us that God, who raised Jesus from the dead, will also by His power raise up everyone who believes in Him. We are only saved through Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9 “Because if you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and in your heart you have faith that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
What you need:
- 1 small pot
- 1 pot base or basket
- Craft moss
- Pebbles
- Small sticks
- Twine or jute rope
- Glue
Instructions
Lay the pot on its side toward the back of the basket or pot base.
Place moss in front of pot opening and all around it. (I added padding first because I did not have much moss to work with)
Add pebbles on top of the moss.
Glue some moss on top of the pot.
Arrange two sticks in the shape of a cross, then use jute or twine to wrap around the intersection of the sticks to hold them together.
Place the cross to the side of the pot, adding some pebbles around it to hold it up.
Here are some Bible verses to help guide your discussion on the wonderful love of Jesus Christ for us. How His sacrificial death and powerful resurrection to eternal life redeemed us from sin and reconciled us with God the Father, bringing us to new and eternal life with Him.
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 10:18: “No one can take My life from Me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what My Father has commanded.”

It is written, “Anyone who hangs on a cross is hated and punished.” Because of the price Christ Jesus paid, the good things that came to Abraham might come to the people who are not Jews. And by putting our trust in Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit He has promised.”

Romans 6:9: “We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him.”

Romans 6:8-11: “The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. ”
Luke 24:6-7: “Remember how He told you, while He was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'”
Romans 6:8-11: “Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him.”
Acts 3:15: “You killed the author of life, but God raised Him from the dead.”
Revelation 5:9-10: “And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a Kingdom and Priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”
