Even though back to school supplies are on the shelf, summer is not over yet! There is still so much fun to bed had and we are here to help. Our friends at the Westin Seattle are the perfect go to if you want to make it an extended stay as well. I love that they are walking distance from so many fun things and if you have kids like mine who often say their legs hurt, it is great to be right in the neighborhood when you need a rest.

First of all, can I just mention what a lovely summer we’ve had in the PNW this year! There are so many amazing activities to get out and enjoy. I must admit we haven’t done nearly enough of them, but this is a good reminder to myself that even if I do start planning for back to school I shouldn’t rush away summer! There is so much to do. Here are 5 of my favorites (plus an extended bucket list) for all the family adventuring you need!
Walking by the Water
I really enjoy sitting and being by the water. Even if everyone brings a book and you just hang out for awhile, it’s so beautiful. Grab your favorite cup of coffee and then just relax. Walk by the water and just enjoy the beautiful views. No need to be in the hustle and bustle if you don’t enjoy that. Rest is good too.
Take In A Show
It’s been awhile since I’ve experienced a show at the Paramount or the Fifth Avenue Theatre but it is always such a fun experience when we do. Make it a date with one of your kids or your special someone. It can feel like you are far away even when you are in your own backyard.
Space Needle
I will admit I am not a fan of heights so it is a little bit amusing this made my list. While I find heights terrifying, I do enjoy the Space Needle. Unless I’m standing on the glass surface area, I always feel safe. It is fun to visit and the views are amazing!
Seattle Children’s Museum
The Seattle Children’s Museum is really fun. Especially when my kids were younger we really enjoyed going and playing. If your kids are the right age for this, I highly recommend it.
Flowers at Pike Place Market
I love all the local vendors at Pike Place Market. Years ago I purchased a dried flower bouquet and I still have it to this day. It looks beautiful in my house and I don’t have to remember to water it. Win/win for me! Pike Place Market has something for everyone, delicious food, and the all-important coffee stop.
If none of these are the right fit for your family, we have an even more extensive bucket list of activities you can choose from. Pro-tip: When you stay at Westin Seattle make sure you stop by and ask the concierge and they’ll be glad to give you some recommendations!
