The Bible reading for this project is Galatians.5:16-25. In this passage of Scripture, Paul teaches us to live by the Spirit of God and crucify the desires of the flesh, like envy, hate, jealousy, anger, witchcraft, drunkenness, telling lies and sexual immorality. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God gives us the Holy Spirit to live in us. The Holy Spirit works in us and gives us the power to live according to the will of God that is spelt out in the Bible. When we walk by the Spirit, we will not gratify the lusts of the flesh. Instead, as we live by the Holy Spirit, we have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These are the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
We are using fruits as the main ingredients of our project today to remind us to live by the Holy Spirit which manifests as the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in our lives and towards others.
