Canadians are looking forward to celebrating Canada Day on July 1st. Very few things are more Canadian than Maple Syrup. We love it so much that we made the Sugar Maple our Canadian National tree. You will find that this delicious condiment featured in today’s recipe, and compliments the tart of our fruit skewers quite well. The white and red fruit chosen represents the colors of the Canadian flag.
Did you know that the phrase “Dominion of Canada” was inspired by Psalm 72:8
He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
As children of God, Canada Day presents a great opportunity to focus our prayers on this great nation, it’s leaders and people. Let us pray for God’s intervention in the affairs of Canada. That the Godly principles would prevail over evil. To quote a line from the national Anthem of Canada: God keep our land glorious and free!
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” Timothy 2:1-2
