I can be a little radical sometimes about certain things and Thanksgiving is one of those things. I love to celebrate Thanksgiving, it’s one of my most favorite holidays, but I’m a radical proponent of having a thankful heart and giving thanks 24/7 ~ 365 days a year.
What I have figured out in my own life is that a heart that is content is what creates an attitude of Thanksgiving every day. Does that mean that I love every little thing that is going on in my life? Umm NO! What it does mean is that God is sovereign in everything. It means that I can trust that God has got my Back.
With one my last posts “6 Things You Can do When Your Children Embarrass You”, I was sharing how we were going through some hard things with our daughter. Even harder still has been watching HER go through this hard time. As Moms I know you know just how hard that can be. We want to remove the suffering from our children, even if it was brought on by them.
However the one thing we have been teaching her through all of this is that God has got her back. God has not abandoned her nor turned his back on her.
It is so important to know the depth of God’s love for us!
I’ll bet you can look back on things that have happened in your life and think…Wow God really had my back on that one!
I think it is the most beautiful thing that no matter what, God watches over us. Even when we make mistakes, are hurt by others, finances overwhelm us, icky things in life happen,
Remember….
God has got YOUR back!
We can be oh so thankful for that every single day because He has not forgotten us and he has not abandoned us.
We are His children!
We can learn to be content in all of our circumstances, not perfectly mind you…but as we wait on the Lord, let us have a heart of Thanksgiving knowing He is right there with us.
Rejoice in God…for he has got your back!
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Please use the printable as you count down to Thanksgiving and remember how much God loves you and how much there is to be thankful for every single day. I purposely left two spots blank for you to put your own favorite Bible verse or meaningful quote.
Blessings my Friends!
