Parents, we know what you’re thinking.
You’ve heard us talk about how we integrate core values into education, that school is more than just academics, and you know all about the extra support we offer to students.
But as important as those things are, we know the big question still bounces around in your brain. Is it good enough for college?
You’re considering a private school education for your child but you worry that smaller class sizes equal reduced course offerings, and you fear that the smaller, more personalized school setting means fewer extracurricular opportunities.
We get it.
You want the best for your child. We do, too.
All those extra things we provide, they are important. But academics are no less so, and everything we do complements the world-class education we offer. Academic rigor and extracurricular opportunities abound at Seattle Christian Schools.
But you don’t have to take my word for it. The numbers speak for themselves. Consistently year after year, our students perform higher than both the state and national averages on the SAT and ACT tests. While standardized testing is only one indicator of a student’s performance and ability, our students’ performance on these tests consistently opens doors to scholarships, college admissions, and career options.
“Seattle Christian has taught me to embrace the person God has made me to be, and has given me the opportunities to use my God-given gifts.” – SCS Junior
Seattle Christian provides an environment where academic excellence is encouraged in all aspects of our program while students are simultaneously encouraged to participate in service to the community and missions. Students also have opportunities to excel through Advanced Placement (AP) courses, music and fine arts, and athletic programs.
A Biblical worldview is fully integrated into every high school course and our highly qualified faculty provides students with engaging, relevant and rigorous instruction in the context of their calling as followers of Christ. Students leave Seattle Christian well-equipped to enter the college environment not only with confidence in their academic abilities, but also prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks for the reason for their hope, as instructed in I Peter 3:15.
“As a literature teacher, I can’t express how exciting it is to help my students recognize the gospel in every story we read. Through discussions of literary texts and themes, I am able to help my students discover their need for Christ in a new way and encourage them to take personal ownership of their faith. With God’s word as our foundation, my students and I study literature in a way that strengthens our faith.” – SCS High School Teacher
When students graduate from Seattle Christian, they are prepared to become leaders on their college campuses, and in their churches, communities and workplaces. The spiritual focus and strong academics at Seattle Christian are the foundation for this high level of preparation.
We know it’s not the only consideration, but we know it’s one that’s weighing heavy on your mind. Rest assured, parents. Your child will be prepared for college at Seattle Christian Schools.
