You might be on the side of the fence that feels October is too early to start watching Christmas movies. I understand. However, with the craziness of the world around us, I think we could all use an extra dose of happiness. The beautiful thing about Hallmark Movies is you know the end is going to be happy. You don’t have to use up much, if any, emotional energy. You can just relax. It is for this reason that I am ready to start the Christmas season. I’ve busted out by “I’d Rather Be Watching Hallmark Christmas Movies” sweatshirt, stocked up on hot chocolate and have popcorn on standby. Let’s do this!
For the diehard fans, don’t forget to download the Hallmark Movies Checklist app. The app will help you keep track of all the movies you’ve seen. There are so many, I promise you won’t have time to watch any twice!
If you haven’t read my Hallmark 101 blog, you might want to brush up on all the Hallmark Channels so you understand the differences between each one.

Hallmark Drama will be airing The Christmas Cookie Matchup. Our friend, Emily Hutchinson from The Hutch Oven will be a judge. Make sure you check it out. Find out more about Emily’s story on our recent Encouragement Table.
You can also subscribe to Hallmark Movies Now and find older Hallmark movies that won’t necessarily be airing on their channels. You can read all about my experience with the Hallmark Movies Now app and see how I like it!
You may be lamenting that you have no ways to watch Hallmark if you don’t have cable. Not true, you have several options.
- Sling TV – My husband and I subscribe to this service. It is $35 a month and we can record any of the movies we want to watch. We’ve been really happy with it. I like that I can get my HGTV fix too! You’ll need the “Lifestyle” add on to watch Hallmark.
- Philo – I’ve been hearing more about this service, but haven’t tried it myself. It is cheaper than Sling from what I can tell so it sounds intriguing.
- Hallmark Movies Now app – As I said this will get you Hallmark movies, but not the newest ones.
- Amazon Prime – Amazon has some Hallmark movies that you can purchase. This option lets you watch them over and over again!
- Netflix – There are some Hallmark movies on Netflix. Older ones, of course.
Let the Christmas movie watching begin. Confession: Our new Christmas tree just came in the mail. I promise I haven’t set it up yet, but boy do I want to!
Relax & Enjoy, and pin this for future reference!
