I’m pretty sure my family spent the entire month of February sick. At least one of us was always sneezing, coughing, or generally feeling miserable. We just kept passing it around. We just love sharing! We always take time after sickness to disinfect the house, and I decided to do some research today on the places we should disinfect first. If you’ve been sick, or just want to keep your house clean start with these 8 areas.
Your Phone. This includes your work phone and your home phone. It is likely your child used your phone if they were sick, even sitting in the drs waiting room. Get that thing cleaned. Viruses can survive on them for a time! Yuck.
The Bathrooms. Faucets. Not only is the generally population said to not wash their hands long enough (20 seconds BTW), but the faucet can end up harboring those germs because of it. Wash your hands well and then disinfect that faucet. Also a tip is giving each of the people in your house (or at least the sick person) their own hand towel. Towels can spread germs. We wash ours weekly!
The Remote. Yep, after binge watching netflix, clean that thing!
Tables. All the surfaces your beautiful children touched while they were sick. Scrub it down!
Computers. Disinfect that keyboard. It’s likely as gross as your phone.
Stuffies. Throw teddy in the wash. It might be painful to part from the bear, but you don’t want him to get sick either. While you are at it throw all those sheets, blankets and towels in too.
Steering Wheel. Get that steering wheel clean with a good scrub.
Door Knobs. We are all touching these things. Get them cleaned up.
Make it a game. Give everyone in your house a cleaning cloth and go to town. Do this regularly and keep your house shiny and germ free. We can’t avoid all germs of course, but we can do our best to keep our houses healthy! Good luck Momma!
