It can be challenging at times to have fruitful Bible studies or faith-based discusses with our young children. I often struggle with ways to engage them in fun ways as it relates to learning about the Bible. This is why I was so excited when Bible Games Central reached out to see if I’d be willing to check out some of their games in exchange for this review. Our family loves board games! I especially love board games right now during quarantine when I’m looking for non-tech ways to keep my kids busy and away from screens! I’ll be honest my kids are on screens A LOT – we’ve thrown all screen time rules out the window, so these games are a real life saver in our home!
Christmas Bingo
I know it’s not Christmas now but who doesn’t need some extra Christmas joy in their lives. Plus, we love bingo! This one is extra fun because there is an element where you sing Christmas songs and our family had a lot of fun with that. Bingo is great for kids young and old. My kids also love playing this with grandma!
Bible Bingo
My mom and daughter played this game to try it out and I loved the discussion I heard around the Bible while they worked on getting a Bingo. I know it’s a simple game, but it sparked discussion in our house about the characters of the Bible.
Bible Memory Game
A memory game is always fun. I would say this is best for younger kids. There are a few ways you can play this game, one of which I thought was a great way to learn more about the sections of the Bible. For example, a match becomes two New Testament books of the Bible. It helps you relate like things. A fun way to brush up on your Bible knowledge.
Parable Parade
I played this one with my son who is 9 and he really enjoyed it. We found the game itself fun and then reading the parables was really meaningful as well. It sparked some conversations about what certain things mean and I found him asking me a lot of different Bible-related questions I don’t think he would have asked in a normal setting!
Bible Games Central has tons of great games for a variety of ages! They have some FREE Easter games and Easter egg Hunts as well.
Board games are such a fun way to pass the time while we are stuck inside more, and if they are sparking faith-related discussion is an added bonus. I bet my kids didn’t even realize they were learning more about the Bible and I even learned a few things too. Do you have any favorite board games? I’d love to hear about them!
