It’s often hard to find something fun that can please the entire family. Don’t you agree? From grandma to the youngest, how can we find activities that allow us to bond as a family that everyone is going to love? I’m here to tell you that we have found it! A staycation at Westin Seattle.
Rebecca received a free stay at Westin Seattle for her honest review. All opinions are her own.
My kids and mom both have birthdays in the May/June timeframe so we do a lot of birthdays all at once. We love to plan experiences that allow us a fun celebration in lieu of a bunch of gifts. The Westin Seattle helps us do that in a super fun way. It meets my three criteria:
- Easy to Plan.
- Fun for all.
- Affordable
Easy to Plan
Staying at The Westin Seattle is easy! We went to Seattle on a Friday (make sure to plan around traffic!) and found getting downtown to be a breeze. If you don’t want to drive, you could even take the Light Rail! We drove down and easily found parking near the hotel. If you don’t want to mess with an outside lot, the hotel has self-park as well as valet options. Parking does carry a price tag, so plan ahead for that. Pricing ranges between $20-30 for an overnight. My opinion? Worth it!
Fun for all
You don’t have to take my word that it is fun to stay at Westin Seattle. Hear straight from my 12-year old on why he had a blast:
The Westin is a very fun place to stay for the weekend. They have a very nice staff and cool rooms. They even have a burger bistro IN the hotel. At the bistro, they really know how to do food.
And what does grandma have to say?
The Westin has welcoming décor, spacious clean rooms, and comfortable beds for a very relaxing stay. I enjoyed the large pool for water play with the grandkids. My menu items at the Bistro were very tasty and we experienced great service even though the staff was really busy!
You know it is a good visit when they can please everyone!
After the easy parking, we had a super streamlined check in process. From start to finish, the staff at Westin Seattle was so nice. We accidentally locked ourselves out of our room and they were very kind and not at all annoyed with us. We enjoyed the beautiful views of downtown Seattle from our room, loved the food at the Relish Bistro, and spent some time swimming in the pool. We needed this staycation to be super relaxing and we were able to do just that!
The great thing about staying in Seattle is you have a variety of options on what to do, depending on your family. Do you want to get out and about and do all the activities? Do it! Walking is easy and taking the monorail is super fun! Do you want to stay in, swim and eat in the hotel? Do it! Just relax.
The Views
I really wanted to see the sunset from our room so we planned ahead to be back in our room by the time it was setting. It did not disappoint!
The Food
My son raved that the burger at Relish Burger Bistro was the best burger he had ever had and that he would be comparing all burgers to it from now on! He also loved the breakfast croffles. My salad was DELISH as was my raspberry mint soda! Hint: we brought a Mad Libs with us to keep the kids busy while eating delicious cheese curds as an appetizer. Super fun!
Yes, they have coffee.
The Fun
My kids love to swim, so that is always a must when we stay at a hotel. We enjoyed the pool and how relaxing the environment was. Plus, the views even from the pool were beautiful! I loved how beautiful the ceiling lights were.
Fun things to do in Seattle
I have to start out by saying that when I think of a trip to Seattle, I find myself getting a little anxious. Do you know the feeling? However, having a place on my radar like Westin Seattle that is easy to find and easy to use as a home base makes the rest relaxing. All the stress melts away! There is so much to do within walking distance that you don’t have to worry about navigating the city. Seattle is a really cool city and when the sun is shining there is nothing like walking around, getting a dose of Vitamin D, and having some family fun! I am so happy I can schedule a trip to the city without the worry and anxious thoughts.

I’m always thinking about ways I can make memories with my family. The gifts, the “things” don’t last, but the memories are what we will carry with us. Westin Seattle helps to do just that. They get the details and why taking time together is important. They make it easy, they make it fun, and they are customer focused. I highly recommend a stay at Westin Seattle this summer as you make fun plans with your family!
As my son turns 12 and is on the verge of his teens, I’m struck with the fact that we don’t get him with us forever! The moments we create together as a family really matter. Thanks Westin Seattle for understanding that, and for helping us create those moments.
