Back in college, my roommates and I used to have craft nights. We’d plan a project and gather around the table and make something together – and it was fun. But these days, crafting has fallen by the wayside. I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I’m not super artistic, I lack patience, I don’t have an abundance of free time, and that crafting usually involves way more money and effort than I want it to.
Somewhere over the years, I fell out of love with crafting. Which is too bad, because my kids LOVE it.
Kristina was compensated to sample and review Confetti Grace, but all opinions are her own.
My kids can go from rowdy and fighting to calm and collaborative once they get a project in front of them. So when I got this month’s Confetti Grace box, I saved it as my “secret weapon” to use during school conference week. I knew that having extra hours to fill each afternoon would be challenging, and I was grateful to have a distraction at the ready.
As expected, my kids came home grumpy. With a compressed school schedule complete with 10:15 am “lunch,” they desperately needed something to hold their focus while they decompressed a bit. So I set them up at the dining room table with the Confetti Grace box and walked away to see what would happen.
They divided up the supplies. My son read the instructions line by line to my younger child who can’t read. They figured things out together. And then they called me over to show off their creations.
They were happy, they were proud, and – best of all – they had been busy for an hour.
Now generally Confetti Grace projects aren’t designed to be done independently by kids. But I wanted to prove that they CAN if you let go of perfection. I didn’t have to plan this activity for my kids, and though the end result might have looked a bit more polished if I’d stayed and done the project with them, I still think they turned out pretty great.
My kids LOVE doing crafts but the reality is I’m just not the crafty mom I’d like to be. I’m so glad there are resources like Confetti Grace that can step in and help to meet the need!
Do you love crafting, or do you know someone who does? Confetti Grace offers a monthly craft subscription box that makes it so incredibly easy. All the supplies and instructions you need are shipped straight to your door, and you get two identical crafts to make so you can bless a friend with the extra project!
This would make a really fun Christmas gift, and they even have two-month gift subscriptions available for the holidays as well. Or if you’re planning a holiday party, a party box would be a GREAT activity to keep the kids busy.
There are so many ways these craft boxes can be used. Think outside the {craft} box. We think Confetti Grace subscriptions or party boxes are great for:
- Homeschool Groups
- Bible study/Women’s Ministry/MOPS groups
- A friend or relative in assisted living or a nursing home; a great activity to do together at visits!
- Kids’ Birthday Parties or Holiday Parties
- Girls’ Night In – a much cheaper alternative to wine & paint nights!
- Parent-Child activity
- Outreach groups that do crafts to give away to shut-ins or other individuals
- School/Daycares for Christmas/Mother’s Day/Valentine’s Day/etc.
- Birthday or Christmas Gift for the craft lover
