Easter is one of those holidays that sneaks up on me. I’m usually scrambling the day before to buy trinkets for the kids’ baskets. I tend to grab what is easy and cheap and 9 times out of 10 that ends up being a big mound of candy. While there’s nothing wrong with a sweet treat or two, I think it’s fun to shake it up a bit. Here are a few ideas if you’re looking for Easter basket goodies that won’t get the kids all hopped up (pun intended) on sugar.
Sunglasses: With the arrival of spring comes plenty of opportunities for time outdoors. Soccer games, park days, and bike riding will be so much cooler with some of the fun shades found at Target.
Wristwatch: What kid doesn’t love sporting a watch like mom and dad? Walmart has lots of adorable options under $15. Check them out here.
Bath bombs: My kids love soaking in a bubble bath. It’s a luxurious treat and they really enjoy making it fancy with yummy bath bombs from Poppy and Petunia. They are all natural and smell delicious!
Flip flops: We love to stock up on the cheap flip flops from Old Navy. They’re inexpensive enough that you can purchase a pair to go with all your spring outfits.
Beach towel: The Disney Store has beach towels featuring all of your kids favorite characters here. Most are $15 and can be personalized for a fee.
Fair trade items: If you’d like to buy a gift that blesses more than just the person you give it to, check out these cool things from Mercy House Global. Your purchase will benefit two maternity homes in Kenya.
