Last year we waited until the end of the pumpkin season to go to a patch and after all the rain it was so squishy on the ground. We were clomping through the mud, getting stuck, losing boots and laughing hilariously. All that to say, I would recommend you go early in the season for the best pumpkins, less crowds and less mud.
