I want to encourage you to support Angel Tree Ministries. My name is John (I’m Shari’s husband) and I am part of a team that goes into the prison once a month. After worship and teaching in the Word, our team has the opportunity to fellowship and pray with the inmates in the chapel.
A recurring theme that comes up time and time again is the inmate’s inability to financially and emotionally support their families. During the holidays this can bring on a deep feeling of isolation, loneliness, and depression, for both the inmates and their families. I know that your prayers and your support of Angel Tree Ministries can serve as a bridge to help these families in need, especially at this time of year.
God is so awesome to receive what we offer to give Him out of love for others and then bless it and and multiply it and bless others in ways that we would never have imagined.
Love never fails.
Matthew 25:35-36
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Matthew 25:40
The King will reply. ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
More About Angel Tree:
Every child has a story. For 2.7 million American children, that story is filled with the abandonment, loneliness and shame that come from having a mom or dad in prison. For many, it may also include following their parents down the same destructive road to incarceration.
Angel Tree, a program of Prison Fellowship, reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. This unique program gives your church an opportunity to share Christ’s love by helping to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners.
