Is it just me or has this cold weather totally dried out your skin? Personally, I love this time of year, especially when it snows like it did a week or so ago. More snow, please?! However, as much I love tromping around with my kids in the cold, I’m a girl that’s prone to extremely dry skin.
The other day I made this homemade Peppermint & Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub, to soften and hydrate my winter skin. It was so easy that I thought I’d share the recipe with you all. I’ve considered making one of these for awhile now, but for some reason, I always thought it would be complicated. How wrong I was!
All you need is coconut oil, sugar, an essential oil of your choice and a container to keep your scrub in. After seeing how easy it is to make a homemade scrub and feeling how soft coconut oil leaves my skin, I think I might make a few more jars for Christmas gifts!
To make your own sugar scrub, combine in a jar equal parts coconut oil and sugar. Stir until well combined. Next, add in a few drops of your favorite essential oil. I used Peppermint oil because I love the way it is a natural energy lifter, which I most certainly need in the morning.
Happy scrubbing, friends!
