Spring is upon us, and the world is exploding with color.
I love it!
It’s like God is rewarding us for making it through a long, gray winter and boy does He give awesome rewards!
Everywhere I look there are new colors and flowers to explore.
This craft is the perfect way for your kids to celebrate spring. A bit of cardboard and a quick walk outside will provide most of what you’ll need.
SUPPLIES:

PC: Ann Kirsten
Cardboard
Craft knife or scissors, a pencil and ruler
Clear packing tape
Cuttings of flowers and leaves
DIRECTIONS:
- To make a pattern, I used a piece of printer paper and drew around the edge using the width of a ruler to make a border. Then I folded the paper in half and drew half of a simple tree trunk. Cut the background out. It should look like this:

- Draw around your pattern onto the cardboard and cut it out. You could use an old pizza box, shipping box, or poster board.
- On the ugly side of the cardboard, press packing tape over the cut-out areas, overlapping the edges as you go, like this:

- The pretty side of your cardboard should have the sticky side up.
- Take a walk around your yard and gather flowers and leaves. You can bring your cardboard out with you and make the picture as you go or cut flowers and bring them inside to arrange. Press your findings onto your trunk!

- Make some extra cut-outs without the trunks and make flower patterns. Decorate your cardboard “frames” if desired.

- Hang your finished artwork in a grouping.

- Or hang these in a window so you can see the light shining through them.

Do you know how many times trees are mentioned in the Bible? One estimate put it at 4528 times! Other than people and God, trees are the most mentioned living things in the Bible. From the first chapter in Genesis (verses 11-12) to the last page of Revelation (22:2), trees are a vital part of God’s word.
