Dear teachers,
Thank you!
I don’t think we could ever say it enough so let me say it right here one more time. THANK YOU! I want you to know that the work you are doing is so important, so needed and I SEE YOU!
I see the countless hours you are putting in to make sure kids can get valuable education.
I see the way you are learning new technology.
I see the way you are dreaming about your classroom being normal again. I see how much you miss being face to face with your kids.
I see the way you are going above and beyond to do everything in your power to make this year the best it can be for the kids.
Expect the unexpected is the theme for 2020 and you have risen to the challenge. I see the way you are ready to pivot in a moment’s notice.
Thank you for the extra hours you put in for my kids. Thank you for learning every bit of new technology possible. Thank you for the Teams videos and the Zoom videos and all the tech support calls you have had to do to help us as we learn with you. Thank you for not giving up on 2020. Thank you for preparing remote lessons and in-person lessons and “I hope school comes back” lessons. Thank you for showing up.
Your laughter at the unexpected, your smile over the zoom computer, your patience with me as I e-mail to tell you I ran out of ink at 9pm and Amazon Prime won’t deliver it in time for me to print the worksheets for the 8:30am class, your willingness to be there, to show up, and to do the job inspires me.
Thank you.
I know you are tired. I know you wonder if it makes a difference. It does.
Thank you.
Keep showing up. It matters more than you know.
A grateful parent,
Rebecca
