Pop-It Fidget Toys: You don’t have to get it, you just have to know they love these things. But you don’t have to get them the standard toy; there’s also pop-it jewelry, pencil cases, purses, keychains…you name it.
A Book Series: Do you have an avid reader? Get them a whole series (or several in a series) instead of just one book. You’ll need to do some research to find something that fits their age, interest, and reading level, but some good ones are Magic Treehouse, Boxcar Children, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, 39 Clues, Magic Puppy, Emily Windsnap, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Wingfeather Saga, Lord of the Rings, and Beverly Cleary’s “Ramona” series.
YouTube Merch: I know you roll your eyes when they talk about their favorite YouTuber, but order them a shirt with their logo and they’ll be thrilled. There are tons of popular ones, but DudePerfect and Mark Rober are actually fun for the whole family to watch together!
Rainbow Scratch Pad: Everyone loves these. They’re so fun! {And super cheap.}
Airzooka: Play “air tag” or target practice with an Airzooka. It only shoots air so nobody gets hit with bullets and you never run out of ammunition! This is a super fun novelty; if you’ve got multiple kids buy one for each of them so they can play together.
Walkie Talkies: These are great for playing with friends, but you’ll also appreciate having them when your kids run around the neighborhood in the summer and you can easily reach them.
Snap Circuits: These are great for the science lover to learn about circuits!
Codenames: This game is better for the older end of this spectrum but if your child loves family game nights, this could be a fun addition to your collection. There are even different versions like Disney or Marvel!
Custom Funko Pop!: This isn’t an option for everyone, but if you live near the Funko Headquarters you can make a custom Funko Pop! figure that looks like your child!
Arts & Crafts Kit: I love this light-up string art kit so your child can make their own cute lamp for their room! But if that’s not their thing, you’ll find TONS of other craft kit options – DIY bath bombs, rock painting, crystal growing, terrarium making, wooden-car-making…the possibilities are endless!
