Here we go again. It’s almost Valentine’s Day and there is that pressure of what Valentines your kids will be handing out to their classmates. My sister-in-law said even her kid’s daycare did this! Talk about pressure on the parents given that a two-year-old isn’t exactly going to help in that matter.
If you are a super crafty mom, we’d love to hear ideas from you in the comments below. But for those non-crafty moms, like myself, here are ten ideas that will not cause you to have a meltdown.
Dollar Store
I am gonna brag a bit. My kids already picked out their Valentines this year and YUP, they are from the Dollar Store! How did I get so lucky? They are actually pretty cute so clearly I feel like I hit the jackpot. Check out your local Dollar Store and fingers crossed you get lucky.
Boxed Valentines
Moms, do not be afraid of the good ol’ boxed Valentines. My kids honestly love these so why try to fight that? If you don’t get lucky at the Dollar Store, hop on over to your local grocery or drug store.
Note on Candy
Step one, buy miniature-sized candy bars. Step two, print out or hand write something like, “Happy Valentine’s Day from (insert child’s name).” Step three, have your child tape note onto candy. Step four, enjoy the time you saved not giving yourself a headache.
Candy-plain and simple
Printing out a note too much work? Problem solved with items like these available.
Hand Made Card (from your child, not you)
This might not work for an entire class of 25. But if your kids have smaller class sizes or want to make something special for someone, simply give them some paper and pens and let them create it! I LOVE the idea of this on post-its which might actually be feasible for a kid to do for more than just a few people.
Photo Copy
If it’s too much to hand make more than a few cards, have your child make one and then make colored photocopies! Brilliant!
Glad we are in the same school
Pretend you are crafty with this cute idea that works for things like Swedish Fish and packs of Goldfish crackers. It’s the same amount of work as taping a piece of paper to candy, but this makes it appear as though you are creative with the cute note that matches the item.
Have A Colorful Valentine’s Day
I did this last year and it was a huge hit with my daughter’s preschool class. Tip, get the crayons at the Dollar Store.
Write on Fruit
Yes, literally take a pen and write something like Happy Valentine’s Day. I’d recommend something you peel like a banana or orange. I did this one year and thought the kids would think it was lame but surprisingly they liked it.
Hand print cut out and sanitizer (teacher gift idea!)
This one is so cute and so easy. Sanitizer for all the germs our teachers touch daily and lotion to help heal their hands from all the extra hand washing!
